As per the rules by Michigan Lottery, your original winning ticket is the only valid receipt for prize claims.
Your lottery ticket is a bearer instrument, which means anyone who possesses the ticket is the winner.
It is mandatory to double-check your numbers and sign the back of your ticket for authentication.
You can claim your Michigan Lottery prizes before the deadline, i.e. 365 days from the date of the drawing, else your winnings will be fortified.
Prize claims for any amount can be mailed to the Michigan Lottery’s prize center.
If you are mailing your winning ticket, it is mandatory to complete the claim form and attach a copy of your signed government-issued ID card (including driver's license, U.S. passport, passport issued by a foreign government, social security number, etc.) and send it all.
Before mailing the winning ticket, ensure you possess a photocopy of all the documents, including claim form and the winning ticket for a valid proof.
The lottery authorities are not responsible for mail, tickets, or claim forms that are late, damaged, misdirected, misaddressed, incomplete, or illegible.
Prizes $5,000 and more are subject to 24% in federal tax withholding at the time of claiming.

Prizes up to $600 will be deposited directly into your Michigan Lottery account.
Prizes $600 or less can be claimed at any authorized Michigan Lottery Retailer.
You can also claim lottery winnings up to this amount by visiting the Michigan Lottery Office.
Lottery winnings up to $600 can also be mailed by filling out the claim form available at the official site and send it to the Michigan Lottery Office mailing address.
Prizes $600 Up To And Including $99,999.99
Prizes $600 and above should be claimed by mailing to Michigan Lottery official website.
Claims through the mail should fill out a claim form supplied by any Michigan Lottery office or available on the official website.
You have to present two forms of identification as valid proof.
Fill the back of your winning ticket, complete the Winner Claim Form mail it to the below mentioned Michigan Lottery P.O. Box address along with your signed original winning ticket, and copies of your valid government-issued photo ID and social security card.
Prizes $5,001 and Over
Prizes of $100,000 and more, you will need to submit an online claim and visit Lottery headquarters, Hillsdale to claim your prize.
Each winner must present a valid government-issued photo ID (typically a state ID or driver's license) and social security card along with the signed winning ticket.
