Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery that costs $2 per play. Players pick a total of six numbers from two different pools of numbers. The first pool consists of white balls numbered from 1 to 70. Players pick five numbers from this pool. The second pool consists of the “Mega Balls” ranging from 1 to 25. Players pick one number from this pool.
To win the jackpot, a player’s selected numbers must match all six numbers drawn in the twice-weekly Mega Millions drawing. Jackpots start at $40 million and keep increasing until someone wins. The amount of the jackpot increase is based on the number of tickets sold, but the minimum increase is $5 million for each drawing.
Megaplier is an add on feature which increases non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, or 5 times and costs an additional $1 per play. But this feature does not affect the size of the jackpot! The Megaplier value is determined using a random number generator before each Mega Millions drawing.
Just the Jackpot is an alternative way to play Mega Millions that allows players to play specifically for the jackpot only. Players get to select two sets of numbers for the jackpot for $3. Players who choose this way to play are not eligible for any other prize level.
The players can pick their own numbers or use any of the below-listed lottery tools to mark the winning Mega Millions lottery numbers.
