New York Lottery is a state-operated lottery of the United States that began in 1967 with the slogan, “Your Chance Of A Lifetime To Help Education”. The Lottery, as part of the New York Gaming Commission, provides revenue for public education. It was on November 8, 1966, the people of New York voted to approve a constitutional amendment authorizing a government-run lottery.
