History

New York Lottery is a state-operated lottery of the United States that began in 1967 with the slogan, “Your Chance Of A Lifetime To Help Education”. The Lottery, as part of the New York Gaming Commission, provides revenue for public education. Before the 20th century, the revenue generated by the lotteries in New York was used for non-educational needs. It helped in the infrastructural and industrial development of New York. It was on November 8, 1966, the people of New York voted to approve a constitutional amendment authorizing a government-run lottery. The proceeds of this government-run lottery would specifically be applied to aid and support education in New York. Since its establishment, the lottery has generated over $34 billion for aiding state education.
In 1980, a daily three number game, known as Numbers was introduced with a top prize of $500. Not limiting your chances of winning, the lottery has introduced multiple playing options such as Booster Ball, Instant Win, Play It Again, and many more that boosts your chances and never lets you miss the opportunity to win big.
