Pick 3 rules
- By purchasing an official Carolina lottery ticket, a player agrees to comply with and be bound by all applicable statutes, administrative rules, and claiming procedures of NCEL.
- It is advised that the players verify the accuracy of data printed on the official Carolina Pick 3 ticket at the time of purchase. Ticket can’t be canceled once it’s been processed because all sales are final.
- Keep your ticket somewhere because NCEL shall not be responsible for lost or stolen official lottery tickets. And you need your winning ticket to claim your winning as it is the sole valid proof of your purchase and winning. No other document, not even Playslip can be used as proof of your purchase and win.
History
Until 2005, North Carolina was the only US state on the east coast without a lottery. Finally, in 2005, NCEL (North Carolina Education Lottery) enacted but was soon charged with overseeing all aspects of the education lottery. 100% of NCEL net proceeds go directly to public schools. Pick 3 began on October 6, 2006, and is contributing to the education program ever since.
