Pick 3 rules
- If the total prize liabilities for any combination of each type of wager bets exceed a limit determined by the commission players can’t enforce any further wagers as it would not be accepted for that drawing.
- All tickets are subjected to validation under procedures to be established by the director before the payment of any winning cash prize.
- The customer/player is responsible for the accuracy of the ticket including numbers, dates, bet amount, wager type, etc, before leaving the retailer. Selling retailers can correct the mistake if you ask for it before leaving the store.
History
Thanks to Senator Ron Mottl who started a campaign to begin lottery in Ohio in 1973. Finally, in 1973, voters approved Ohio Lottery Commission and hence it began. Lottery profits are solely transferred to education. Pick 3 started on December 3, 1979, and is contributing to generating education supplement revenues since then. It was the first-ever lottery game in Ohio where players could choose their desired numbers. On August 16, 1999, Pick 3 expanded to twice-daily draws.
