Pick 5 rules
- If the total prize liabilities for any combination of each type of wager bets exceed a limit determined by the commission players can’t enforce any further wagers as it would not be accepted for that drawing.
- All tickets are subjected to validation under procedures to be established by the director before the payment of any winning cash prize.
- The legal age for playing Pick 5 is 18 years or more.
- Customer/player is responsible for the accuracy of the ticket including numbers, dates, bet amount, wager type, etc, before leaving the retailer. Selling retailers can correct the mistake if you ask for it before leaving the store.
History
Thanks to Senator Ron Mottl who started a campaign to begin lottery in Ohio in 1973. Finally, in 1973, voters approved the Ohio Lottery Commission and hence it began. Lottery profits are solely transferred to education. Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery successfully delivered more than $25 billion to public education. Pick 5 started on August 12, 2012, and is contributing to generating education supplement revenues since then. It is quite similar to Pick 3 and Pick 4 lottery games that allow players to pick their numbers and wagers.
