History

In 1976, a referendum was held regarding the establishment of the Vermont Lottery. It was during the 1977 session of the General Assembly, that Public Act No. 82 established the state-run Vermont Lottery. Green Mountain Game, the first game of the Vermont Lottery went on sale on February 14, 1978. Soon after this, Pick 3 was launched on November 10, 1980. The Vermont Lottery is committed to contributing all its lottery proceeds to the Education Fund, while strongly communicating the importance of responsible gaming.
