The Louisiana Lottery Corporation was created in 1991 as a government-run lottery after the state legislature proposed the establishment of a state lottery act in 1990, to generate revenue without increasing the taxes. The proceeds of the Louisiana Lottery Corporation are directed towards the Minimum Foundation Program, which funds public education in Louisiana. It was in January 2007, that the Louisiana Lottery relaunched Easy 5 replacing Cash Quest which too was a replacement of the original version of Easy 5 in 1988. The game is known to offer its players every chance to win exciting cash prizes, with some favorable odds of winning the lottery.
