The Director of the Minnesota State Commission is liable to adopt the rules and game procedures, employ personnel to carry on the lottery operations, issue retailer contracts and rule on decisions relating to those contracts, enter into lottery procurement contracts for the provision of goods and services to the lottery, frame and publish promotional materials, enter into written and valid agreements with one or more government-authorized lotteries, or with an organization created and controlled by those lotteries for the operation, marketing, and promotion of a joint lottery, and ensure the integrity and public confidence in the State Lottery.
Proceeds from Lottery ticket sales and unclaimed prizes go back to the community for -More than $1.2 billion has helped preserve, restore and protect Minnesota’s environment through the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund, Game and Fish Fund and the Natural Resources Fund. Another $1.8 billion has helped fund state programs, including education, public safety and health and human services.
