Louisiana Lottery All Set To Revamp Lotto In August

For the fourth time, the Louisana Lottery is all set to change its flagship Lotto game in the history of 28 years. The biggest change for the players is that the minimum jackpot has been doubled to $500,000. This hefty prize amount will definitely attract the current and new players to buy the ticket.

For creating larger starting jackpots, the game will now add two numbers to the game’s matrix. This redesigned structure will require the players to select 6 numbers out of 42 and pushing the overall odds of winning to 1 in 34.4 from 1 in 30.

The odds of winning the jackpot will change from 1 in 3,838,380 to 1 in 5,245,786.

The match-5 and match-4 will continue to remain pari-mutuel which means the prize won will be equally divided among the respective tier's prize pool by the total number of winners for that drawing.

Due to a change in the game matrix, the lottery will temporarily suspend the multi-draw option for Lotto to prevent future draw purchases that eclipse the new version's sale date of August 2. The multi-draw will return to its full functionality on August 2. The multi-draw option will allow its players to purchase tickets for a selected number of future drawings only.

The new set of Lotto rules will go into effect with the drawing on August 5th.
