The last year had been undoubtedly a tough one for many of us, especially for this couple hailing from Turner, Maine. But luck being unpredictable as it smiled brightly on them and ended their year with a $1 million Lottery win!
So this lucky couple - Glenn Theriault and Stephanie Lemieux, had a tradition of saving up on winnings from the previous lottery wins and cashing them to buy more. And no wonder the couple’s purchase of a $25 scratch-off ticket turned out to be a top prize winner of $1 Million.
The big win was welcomed by the lucky couple with all hearts as they lost their 13-year old chocolate lab, Baxter, this Spring. Lemieux told the Sun Journal that the chocolate lab was like a child and meant the world to them ever especially after he was told he could never have children.
But after COVID-19 hit the United States, it took a toll on many local businesses and left many households struggling financially. But Lemieux and Theriault found them on a rise! Lemieux recalled that their business was doing really well and even expanding while the rest were losing all. She even found that she was pregnant after believing she could never be.
On December 29, the couple cashed their previous lottery wins and bought 25, $25 lottery tickets. Lemieux became a $50 winner whereas Theriault scratched off a couple of them worth $30, but the real win was yet to come. Theriault described that when he got the 11th ticket in hand, he “did a big karate chop on the arm of the recliner and yelled 'I can't believe it' and jumped up!”.
Days following the win, the couple was the talk of the town and plans to buy a small property in Rangeley, for their retirement plans and also wishes to build a new facility for their business!
