A player from Michigan who likes to try out different types of instant games won a top prize from one of Michigan Lottery's newest scratch-off games.
An anonymous man from Michigan decided to try the Lottery's new $30 "Diamond 7's" instant game, which boasted three unclaimed top prizes of a whopping $4 million each. Just as Lady Luck would like to have it, the scratch-off player bagged the very first one.
The 33-year-old lucky lottery winner stopped at 18-Dequindre Convenience on Dequindre Road in Sterling Heights and searched for the available scratch-off games while he was there. The Macomb County resident explained the Lottery, "I like to play a variety of instant games and decided on the 'Diamond 7's' game while I was at the store because it's newer,". "I scanned the ticket and got a message to file a claim, so I took it home to have a family member scan it on their Lottery app."
Before scanning the ticket, a family member of the winner had a look at the ticket and took it to be of a much lower value. He recalled that one of his family members looked it over and told him that he had just won $500. He told, that we once again scanned the ticket on the app and saw it was a $4 million winning ticket which shocked everyone around and turned the celebration of a lottery win into a grand party.
After his win, two of the three $4 million top prizes in the "Diamond 7's" game are still available for other players to claim and mark their win. In addition to these, there are 33 out of 40 $15,000 second prizes and 177 out of 209 $5,000 third prizes remaining. The odds of winning any prize in Michigan Lottery's "Diamond 7's" are 1 in 3.47.
