Here's some good news for lottery players! The Texas Lottery has announced an additional chance to hit the Lotto Texas jackpot with a new weekly drawing.
Lotto Texas is the newest game to be added to the Monday Night Draw club, joining various others lined up for the day.
Lotto Texas, also known as "The Texas Original," is 28-years old and offers the largest rolling jackpot in a local statewide game. The game lets you pick 6 numbers from a field of 54 and gives you the option of selecting "Extra!" for an additional dollar to increase the non-jackpot prizes by $10,000.
Gary Grief, the Executive Director stated, that as Texas Lottery marks its 30th Anniversary, they are thrilled to celebrate the introduction of the third weekly draw of its longest-running draw game. According to him, adding a Monday drawing will offer its Lotto Texas players an increased number of chances to play and win the growing jackpots.
Currently, the Lotto Texas drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:12 PM CT.
The change in the drawing schedule along with the addition of a third Powerball drawing is all set to take place on Monday, August 23, 2021.
Regardless of the third drawing, the gameplay, the odds, prizes, and everything else will remain the same. Even the cost of Lotto Texas and Extra!, which is $1 per play respectively, will not change.
Currently, the jackpot sits at $8.35 million for the drawing to be held on Saturday, June 24, 2021, with an estimated cash value of $6.47 million.
So, Texas Lottery players, it's time to get your papers and pencils and start strategizing the lottery numbers with an increased chance of winning.
