History

The California State Lottery began with a ballot measure that was approved by voters on November 6, 1984. SuperLotto Plus joined the club in 1986 as California SuperLotto. The name was changed to SuperLotto Plus in 2000. The Lottery sold its first ticket in October 1985 and since then funneled more than $30.9 billion into California’s educational institutions, public schools, and colleges.
