History
The Louisiana Lottery Corporation was created in 1991 as a government-run lottery after the state legislature proposed the establishment of a state lottery act in 1990, to generate revenue without increasing the taxes. The proceeds of the Louisiana Lottery Corporation are directed towards the Minimum Foundation Program, which funds public education in Louisiana. It was in January 1992, that the Louisiana Lottery launched Lotto, for its players to win exciting cash prizes, with some favorable odds of winning.
