History
Maryland Lottery was established and created in January 1973, as a result of popular voting in 1972. The mission of the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency is to generate revenue to support good causes in Maryland including public health, safety, education, human resources, and environmental initiatives. Since its establishment, the lottery has contributed over $16 billion in revenue to the State and more than $25.6 billion to lottery players. Maryland Multi-Match replaced the Maryland Lotto in 2006 and since then has been producing innumerable lottery winners.
