Here’s a piece of good news for the Mississippi lottery players. All of those waiting for a new draw style game apart from Cash 3 will not have to wait much longer. Last Monday the Mississippi Lottery announced the inauguration of its latest draw game named Match 5 in April.
Match 5 will be the fourth to enter into the lottery’s club of existing games - Powerball, Mega Millions, and Cash 3. As per the official information shared by the lottery, the game will be drawn three nights a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The sale of the tickets will commence on April 28, with the first drawing to be held on April 29.
Lottery President, Tom Shaheen, said in a Press Release, that Mississippi players have been looking forward to a pick-style game, and we are pleased to add it to our chest of games. As per him, it features a rolling jackpot, which means if no one matches all five numbers, the jackpot will continue to grow and roll to the next drawing similar to Mega Millions and Powerball.
Each play per game costs $2, and the players also get the option of spending an additional $1 per play to add on a Multiplier feature to their ticket that will multiply their non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, or 5 times. The winning amounts are won depending on how many numbers you will match on the ticket to the numbers drawn, with prizes ranging from a free ticket to the jackpot.
Last August, when the Lottery launched Cash 3, it also hinted at the introduction of a daily-4 number game and a daily-5 number game sometime in the near future.
The Mississippi Lottery players will be allowed to redeem prizes under $600 at any authorized retailer, or by filing a claim via mail, or at Lottery Headquarters in Flowood. Winning amounts ranging from $600 to $99,999 can be claimed via mail or at lottery headquarters, but winnings of $100,000 and above, must be claimed in person at lottery headquarters.
The Match 5 drawings will be held, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The drawings will be conducted via computer random number generators, with results out by 10:00 p.m. CST. Gear up Mississippi lottery players, you now have the chance to play your favorite numbers, or strategize them with The Lottery Lab and get the chance to bag exciting prizes.
