Timothy Lingo, the lucky lottery winner, asked all of his friends to share their set of lucky numbers each and one of the suggestions won Lingo of Hillsborough half of the Carolina Cash 5 jackpot worth $390,814.

The winner recalled the day when he asked his friend to give him five numbers. His friend replied with four, to which Lingo replied ”Learn to count, bozo. I need one more.” And his friend texted him with one more, and this was it for him!

Lingo purchased the ticket from the Sheetz convenience store on NC-86 South in Hillsborough and selected the lucky numbers which were 7, 12, 15, 23, and 32. The next day he checked the lottery numbers online after returning from work! Seeing the winning numbers, he rushed and got his lottery ticket to check. To his surprise, it was his numbers.

After visiting the North Carolina Lottery headquarters on Friday, Lingo claimed his lottery prize and came home with $138,254 after federal and state tax withholdings from his share of the jackpot whose actual amount was $195,407.

After grabbing his win, Lingo plans to pay off his home loan, saving up for the future, and donating his money and time to a youth club after working in commercial extermination for over 30 years.

Lingo also plans to reward his friend with a brand new car for supplying him with winning lottery numbers, “Because if it wasn't for his numbers, I'd still have zero,”.
