Double Play
The Delaware State Lottery is operated by the government of Delaware. The creation of the lottery was authorized by the state legislature on May 31, 1974. According to law, Delaware Lottery generates income for the state’s General Fund. The lottery helps pay for services that otherwise would require additional tax dollars. The lottery remains the 4th largest source of revenue for the state of Delaware. It spends $1 million each year by setting up campaigns on gambling problems to discourage people from spending more than they can afford on lotteries.
