How to Play Cash 5

The Cash5 joined the Connecticut Lottery in April 1992, and since then has had over 4,800 drawings, making it the most played lottery of the state. This is one of the best games offered by the Connecticut lottery which offers the highest odds of winning. The jackpot odds of the game are 1 in 324,632 which makes it super popular among the state. The Cash5 winning numbers are drawn every day and a jackpot winner may snag a prize as high as $100,000.

Playing the Connecticut Cash5 Lottery is plain sailing. You have to choose 5 different numbers from a field of 1 to 35 numbers. You can either mark them on the playslip or ask your lottery retailer for Quick Pick to have randomly generated numbers by the terminal.

A Cash5 ticket costs $1 per play and for an additional $0.50 per wager, you can increase your chances of winning by adding “KICKER” to your ticket. For “KICKER” you need to select 1 additional number that is different from the other selected numbers. Or you can also ask the retailer for a Cash5 “Quick with KICKER” and let the terminal randomly select the numbers for you.

There are 5 winning numbers drawn for every Cash5 drawing, however, each Cash5 ticket is printed with 6 different numbers. The sixth number in the far-right position in the ticket is your KICKER number. With an additional $0.50, your KICKER number gets activated - “Y” and can be used to match any of the 5 winning numbers drawn. A KICKER number that is not activated and is denoted by “N” cannot be used for a prize match.

Cash5 also offers you the chance of playing up to 26 consecutive drawings in advance. By marking the “Advance Action” option you get the chance to play up to 26 drawings for Cash5. You have to pay for 25 and you get 26 Advance Action Plays.

With Cash5 you also get the option of playing your numbers again. Ask your lottery retailer for a REPLAY and get a new Cash5 ticket with the same numbers and wager amount. With this ticket in hand, you are entitled to play the same numbers again with an “R” printed on it. Always ensure to check the accuracy of your playslip and sign the back of your ticket for proper authentication.
